Do you guarantee admission?
No. No one can, and an advisor who says otherwise is selling something other than advising. What Ashurio commits to is the work: the plan, the editing, the mock interviews, and an honest read on where an application is weak while there is still time to do something about it.
Do you write essays for clients?
No. You write every draft. Neil edits, questions, and pushes for specifics. Committees read thousands of essays a year and hear a borrowed voice quickly, and the certification you sign at the end of the application is yours, not his.
When should I start?
Early spring is the version of this that goes smoothly. The narrative gets settled, the primary is finished ahead of time, and you submit as soon as the portal opens. Later than that is not a lost cause: applicants come in mid-cycle every year, and the work becomes expediting, which is its own skill. Interview preparation is a separate case and can start the week an invitation arrives.
What does it cost?
Fees depend on how much of the cycle you want covered, so the quote comes after the consultation, in writing, before any work starts. Payment is split: part at signing, the rest at various touchpoints and milestones.
Do you work with DO applicants?
Yes, AMCAS and AACOMAS both, including applicants running the two in the same cycle. The strategy questions differ between them and the essays are not interchangeable.
I am a career changer. Is that a problem?
Neil's own path into medicine was a career change, and an application that does not run in a straight line is the kind he reads best.
How many clients do you take?
A handful each cycle, deliberately. Neil is intentional about who he works with, and about being able to commit adequate time to every client's application.
Where do sessions happen?
Over video. Ashurio is based in New York and works with applicants anywhere in the country, on a schedule that fits around classes, work, and shifts.
